Carol and Mossie

Mrs Carol Lincoln

Carol has held principal roles in the charity sector for several years and has witnessed firsthand how animal-assisted intervention enhances the lives and well-being of people of all ages—particularly children with special educational needs, individuals facing health challenges, and those struggling with depression and social isolation.

In 2019, Carol and her business partner, Sarah Ellis, established Therapy Dog Training UK, which delivers a successful training, assessment & certification framework that offers accessible, accredited online training programs and live assessments through a network of 65 qualified and experienced force-free canine trainers across the UK. The organisation’s mission is to ensure that all therapy dogs in the UK are given the opportunity to be happy and confident in any working environments away from home, while prioritizing their well-being and welfare as much as the benefits they provide to their young beneficiaries.

From 2015 to 2019 Carol developed & managed an educational canine assisted therapy volunteer programme with 80 participating schools, libraries and colleges across Wales for the Burns Pet Nutrition Foundation. Carol has completed professional canine coaching qualifications with the I.M.D.T and Canine Principles. Carol and Sarah were delighted to be part of the coalition of organisations that helped to produce ‘Bark & Read – Standards of Practice for Providers of Animal Assisted Interventions in Schools published by The Kennel Club UK in 2018.
